71 Highway to Interstate 49 Conversion

Interstate 49 is planned for a northward extension along the U.S. 71 Corridor through Northern Louisiana, Arkansas, and Missouri. Much of the existing U.S. 71 freeway, as well as Interstate 540 in Arkansas north of Interstate 40 and Interstate 130 in Texarkana, will become part of Interstate 49. These extensions to Interstate 49 are authorized as part of the National High Priority Corridor designation.  In

I49 is the Nations's newest Interstate! Site consultants are often looking to help their clients locate along Interstates. Cass County will be in a position to compete for new businesses that require close proximity to an Interstate. Our communities along 71 Hwy (future I49) are well-positioned for new development at the new interchanges. I49 enhances Cass County's strength as a transportation and logistics destination.
